The journey of faith is a continuous series of invitations from God, calling each of us to come and take part in His grand plan. He calls out to us daily, whether we are conscious of it or not, inviting us to put our trust in Him and take a leap of faith into the unknown.
When we’re willing to let go of our worries, fears, and doubts and embrace God’s invitation we can find ourselves on an incredible journey that often leads us down unexpected paths. We may not know what lies ahead but we can be assured that God has it all under control and will lead us every step of the way. He invites us to abandon our reliance on ourselves and put our confidence in Him alone. It might feel like a scary undertaking but He promises to provide, protect, and guide us as we take His hand and embark on this journey.
The Power of that First Step
Are you feeling like God is up to something and is asking you to take a step of faith? You may be unsure where it will lead, but there’s so much power in just taking the first step. With each step of faith, our trust in Him increases and as we continue to move forward in obedience He starts to reveal each new step along the way.
Whenever I think about taking steps of blind faith I’m reminded of the famous scene in the movie ‘Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom’. In the scene, Indie stands on the edge of a bottomless chasm with no way to reach the other side. As soon as he takes that seemingly crazy first step into apparent nothingness, a bridge appears right there beneath his feet! It’s a wonderful picture of the power that comes when we are willing to take those steps of faith that God is asking us to.

The Bible is full of examples where people have taken a leap of faith despite their uncertainty about what would happen next; Abraham leaving his home for an unknown destination at the Lord’s command, David facing down Goliath with only a slingshot in hand, Gideon leading 300 soldiers against thousands — all of them trusting God to guide them and provide for them. When we choose to put our trust in Him and focus on His promises instead of our own limitations, He will equip us with everything we need to step into the unknown and watch Him do amazing things in our lives.
Follow His Prompting
If there’s something stirring in your heart and prompting you to take a step of faith, let me encourage you — don’t hesitate. Go ahead and take that first step — He won’t let you down. The next step may be small or large, but it’s important to remember that it’s God who will make it all possible. So, take courage and trust Him to lead the way!
